CAT (Common Admission Test) is conducted by the prestigious IIMs. The
score of CAT is accepted by many institutions of the country. The exams are
considered as one of the most difficult in the country. Almost all the CAT exam
takers eye for IIMs, but a few make the cult. Even a 100 percentile doesn't
guarantee admissions to IIMs, because they have GDs and PIs as well.
Eligibility for CAT 2014 - To be eligible to appear
for CAT, the candidate must have bachelor's degree with minimum 50% marks. For
SC, ST and Differently Able (DA) the minimum eligibility is 45%.

Dates for CAT 2014 - The exam dates are yet to be announced by
the IIMs. As soon as the dates are announced we publish them.
Syllabus for CAT 2014 - Even though it is said that CAT comprises
of 3 sections (Verbal or English Ability, Quantitative or Mathematical
Ability, Logical Reasoning), it is actually a myth. The core aim of CAT is
to gauge a candidate's problem solving skills.
There are 30 questions in each section and
each section is for 70 minutes, which includes a 15 minute tutorial before the
start of every tutorial (provides a technical knowhow of the computer based
test). Even if a candidate finishes a particular section before 70 minutes
(exceptional cases :P), he will not be able to start the next section.
- Note – Candidates can’t go back to a section they end. For example, if a candidate has switched to Verbal from Data Interpretation, he can’t access the DI section again.
Registration – Log on to the official registration desk of CAT 2014 by Clicking Here , fill in the details,
complete the process.
After filing the form, candidates have to pay fees,
either online or offline. The fee for general category is Rs. 1600 and for
SC/ST/DA is Rs. 800. Candidates can pay the fees at any of 30 branches of Axis
Bank spread across the country. Online payment of fees can be done by Clicking Here.
In case the voucher doesn’t work, contact 1-800-419-0080.
Results – The results would be announced after few
months of commencement of the exams. Again, dates as and when announced would
be published by us.
Important tips - If you have appeared for mock tests a
considerable times, you may have realized that it’s not about attempting as
many questions you can, but it’s about appearing questions which you know are
RIGHT.
Last but not the least, you know your
strengths and weakness better than no one else, so formulate plan which is best
suited to you and crack one of the most difficult exam of India. All the best!!
